About Technology & Innovation Legal (TIL) Clinic:
The Technology and Innovation Legal Clinic (TIL Clinic) at the campus of the American University of Armenia (AUA) was launched in Fall, 2018, through the unanimous efforts and sponsorship of AUA and the Armenian Bar Association. The TIL Clinic was established to serve the creative community on the campus and beyond, primarily supporting Innovation and Technology startups in Armenia.
Up to this point 22 startups (19 of which are EPIC group and 3 randomly reached out to the Clinic requesting assistance by email) received assistance by way of individual consultancy or general introduction to key aspects.
The Aim of TIL Clinic:
The TIL Clinic is a resource to address the needs for professional legal counseling in rapidly developing sectors, including innovation and technology, the progress of which becomes more visible in Armenia day by day.
TIL Clinic Members:
The Clinic members are students and recent graduates of the AUA’s Master of Laws (LL.M.) program, who are junior career lawyers practicing in Armenia and are supervised by a Senior Lawyer and Faculty Member at AUA.

What TIL Clinic Offers:
Students selected from the AUA’s LL.M. program provide pro bono legal counseling to startups working in Armenia on innovative tech projects in IT, Engineering, and beyond on a wide range of legal issues, including:
- In-team negotiations and contracts,
- Confidentiality agreements,
- Intellectual Property,
- Company registration,
- Working with investors, etc.
The Clinic also conducts workshops and seminars for the Clinic beneficiaries, offering trainings on negotiations, IP rights protection, contracting specifics, and other related knowledge and skills.
Who is Eligible to Apply:
TIL Clinic offers its resources to startups that work on innovative technology projects and express need in legal support. The TIL Clinic also works with the beneficiaries supported through the AUA’s own Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center (EPIC). The participants of the Innovation and Technology ecosystem of Armenia are welcome to apply.
