Dr. Mushegh Manukyan published a monograph entitled “International private law of the Republic of Armenia: scientific and practical commentaries to the 12th chapter of the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia (international private law)”.

MusheghIn June 2013 Dr. Mushegh Manukyan, lecturer in international business transactions at AUA LL.M. Program and Director of AUA LL.M. Program Mediation and Arbitration Clinic published a monograph entitled “International private law of the Republic of Armenia: scientific and practical commentaries to the 12th chapter of the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia (international private law)”.

The monograph is based on Dr. Manukyan’s practical, academic and research experience in different countries. With the aim to invest his experience in the development of Armenian legislation and legal thought, Dr. Manukyan decided to reveal the gaps and shortcomings of the Armenian civil legislation in the field of private international law and propose ways and methods for their elimination.

The monograph will contribute not only in the preparation of specialists at the Armenian law schools, in the development of legal scholarship in Armenia, but also in the improvement of the relevant legislation, which is among the most important prerequisites fostering the development of the country. As pointed out by Dr. Manukyan “the development of the Armenian international private law not only has a purpose to solve the problem of appropriate regulation of the relationships with the foreign element, but also the experience shows that scholarly contributions, practical and legislative improvements promote increase in the number of investments in the country”.

The monograph is mainly suitable for the sophisticated legal audience – graduate students, judges, attorneys, arbitrators, who have advanced knowledge of private international law and want to obtain more practical and academic insight about its application in the field.
